Agenda GRID meeting RAL, 14 June 2000, 11.00-17.00

Place: Conference Room 4, Atlas Centre,Bldg 27, RAL

The purpose of this meeting is to organise the beginning of the LHCb GRID testbed, basing it on Liverpool, RAL and CERN to start with.

The draft agenda is given below. We also attach to this mail some notes produced by Eric van Herwijnen and myself reflecting the current status and thinking. We should emphasise the draft nature of these notes.

This first meeting is very much a technical working meeting. However groups who are not yet technically involved in GRID developments are very welcome to send one   representative, so as to keep in touch with developments.

1. Discussion on DataGrid MILESTONE 0 (and associated workplan).
2. Round table of status of GLOBUS installations at RAL/Liverpool/CERN....
3. Making Liverpool MAP, RAL, etc. 'visible' in GLOBUS world for job submission (security,scheduling etc).

• Making job status and results (stored locally in 1st instance) available to user
• Grid Information Service/LDAP.

4. Discussion on further milestones

• Transferring data between sites
• Accessing remote data
• Distributed analysis?
