================= new tracker cross geometry =================================
tracking stations in the magnet are removed.
It uses dbase v240r1
Full details can be found in the release.notes
It uses dbase v240
Full details can be found in the release.notes
================= new muon background =====================================
It uses dbase v239 (low luminosity - average value) or dbase v239r1 (high
luminosity - fix value)
Full details can be found in the release.notes
================= new VELO, average passive material in outer tracker planes ============
It uses dbase v238
It implements a new VELO geometry description
It replaces the Al, mylar, honeycomb layers by one layer with an average medium in outer
tracker planes in
order to solve the lack of precision during Geant3 tracking in OT : but it does NOT remove
the problem.
Full details can be found in the release.notes
===================== new pileup at generator level ===========================
It uses dbase v237
It contains the pileup at generator level
It is not backward compatible with v243
only Brunel can read RAWH
Full details can be found in the
release.notes
to use it, follow the procedure
Question: How is the pile-up done ?
Answer: exactly as in SICBDST !
SIFL 6 = 99 has to be specified for minimum bias
SIFL 6 = 98 has to be specified ONLY IF signal tape is read in (with GETZ)
SIFL 6 = 99 has to be specified if signal is selected in minimum bias .
In practice with SICBMC you more or less always select the signal in
minimum bias, therefore in general you have to specify SIFL 6 = 99,
however a different procedure has to be defined for HIGGS.
Question: What is the output ?
Answer: I suggest to call it RAWH2 tape, following the general
prescription that we adopt for DST2. In parallel we can define RAWH3
changing the luminosity in beam.cdf
(exactly the same procedure we used to make high luminosity pile-up in
SICBDST).
Question: what is the default behaviour ?
Answer: the default behaviour is unchanged and correspond to SIFL 6 = 1
(only one pp interaction is generated and a RAWH tape is produced).
SIFL 6=2, SIFL 6=3 etc. may be used to generate exactly 2,3 etc. pp
interactions.
Question: are there further needed changes in production ?
Answer: in general nothing changes with SIFL 6=1 (RAWH production =
default).
For RAWH2, RAWH3 etc. one has to select ALWAYS MSEL 2 for all the
channels
and inclusive events) (not only minimum bias!). Please take it into
account when you define RAWH2 production data cards.
