The document can be obtained in PDF format from the SPIDER web page: http://spider.cern.ch/Processes/Programming/ Hard copies are also available from outside office 1-R-003 (CERN, Meyrin). This document is the result of a work started in summer 1998, in the context of the SPIDER project, with the set up of a working group composed by representatives of LHC and COMPASS experiments. After the discontinuation of the working group, the definition and completion of the standard has been pursued by the IPT SPIDER members. The document will be maintained, driven by user feedback. We are now concentrating our effort on the evaluation of the most promising static analysis commercial tools, with the goal to identify the one that best support the automating check of source code against this standard, as well as providing the necessary flexibility and extendibility to support experiment specific configuration. The evaluation results will be published as IT report.
